This Week's Pesticide Price Signals
This Week's Pesticide Price Report
During the period from April 12 to April 18, 2025, overall pesticide market demand was stable.
Market Overview
During the period from April 12 to April 18, 2025, overall pesticide market demand was stable. Price fluctuations for most products were minor. For some products, due to fluctuations in upstream raw material operating rates and changes in downstream demand, market supply became tight, and prices remained firm, even showing signs of further increase. A very small number of products experienced price declines due to continued sluggish demand, coupled with the gradual release of production capacity and intensified market competition. Currently, some products, although their prices are stable, have tight supply, requiring further attention to the supply situation.
Herbicides
The herbicide market remained generally stable with steady price trends; only a few products showed price fluctuations. The overall herbicide market is stable, but products like Diquat, Sethoxydim, and Haloxyfop-P-methyl saw price increases due to increased spring demand and tight supply; subsequent supply situations need monitoring. Dichlorprop-P, however, has stable supply and its price has decreased.
- Diquat, Sethoxydim, Haloxyfop-P-methyl: Prices increased due to increased spring demand and tight supply.
- Dichlorprop-P: Stable supply, price decreased.
Insecticides
Most insecticide product prices remained stable. In the insecticide market, Chlorantraniliprole prices rose significantly due to a surge in demand for pest control in April and tight supply. About 40% of products, such as Bifenthrin, Thiamethoxam, and Pymetrozine, have stable prices but tight supply, requiring continued monitoring of market dynamics.
- Chlorantraniliprole: Increased by 2000 Yuan, to 230,000 Yuan/ton, due to a surge in demand and tight supply, with a significant price increase.
- Bifenthrin, Thiamethoxam, Pymetrozine: Prices are stable but supply is tight.
Fungicides
Fluctuations in some fungicide products were quite evident. In the fungicide market, Azoxystrobin prices rose due to tight supply, while Kresoxim-methyl prices fell significantly.
- Azoxystrobin: Prices increased due to tight supply.
- Kresoxim-methyl: Prices decreased significantly.
This Period's Market Features
1. Overall Price Stability: Most product prices remain stable and unchanged, with supply and demand basically balanced. Some products, even with tight supply, can still meet most of the demand.
2. Price Decrease for a Few Products: Prices for products like Kresoxim-methyl and Dichlorprop-P have somewhat decreased.
3. Concentrated Price Increases, Obvious Trend: Price increases are mainly concentrated in herbicide products, such as Diquat, Sethoxydim, and Haloxyfop-P-methyl.
Market Forecast
As the peak season for spring medication arrives, market demand is released centrally. Some manufacturers, due to bottomed-out inventories, have raised their quotations, further stimulating downstream purchasing enthusiasm and forming a positive cycle of "demand - price increase - restocking." However, affected by the overall industry maintaining low operating rates, the supply of most products continues to be tight. It is expected that the tight market supply situation will be difficult to effectively alleviate in the short term. With upstream and downstream enterprises still maintaining cautious production strategies, it is expected that the market in the second quarter will continue the operational characteristics of "low inventory, high demand," and prices for some scarce varieties may have room to rise. Distributors are advised to do a good job of inventory management during the peak season.
