Su Yan’s Phenamacril & Xianda’s Flupropazine Secure Interim ISO Common Name Approval
On December 5th, ISO/TC 81 (Pesticide Nomenclature Technical Committee) provisionally approved the common names of two pesticides: amfenamacril (a fungicide developed by Jiangsu Pesticide Research Institute Co., Ltd.) and triflupyroxazin (a herbicide developed by Liaoning Cynda Chemical Co., Ltd.).
Amfenamacril (P)
A novel myosin inhibitor fungicide co-developed by Jiangsu Pesticide Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang University. Based on the company’s original fungicide phenamacril, a drug target model was constructed using molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation technologies. Through extensive structural design, computer-aided virtual screening, directed synthesis, antibacterial activity testing, and efficacy comparison, this ultra-high-efficiency bactericidal compound was identified—its 90% inhibitory activity against Fusarium graminearum is 20 times that of phenamacril.

Triflupyroxazin (P)
A PPO inhibitor and new-generation non-selective herbicide. Target Markets: Non-selective weeding, defoliant, genetically modified (GM) herbicide-resistant crops, and gene-edited herbicide-resistant crops. As a global high-cost-performance non-selective herbicide, it not only controls invasive alien weeds but also exhibits outstanding efficacy against glyphosate and glufosinate-resistant weeds. Aiming for a paraquat-scale market, it will support the future development of integrated GM seed-herbicide solutions.
